Safety & supervision

What is the supervision ratio?

We operate with small, carefully supervised groups and an average ratio of one adult for every six children. This allows our team to provide close attention, gentle encouragement and proper oversight throughout the camp day.

From activities and excursions to meals, chalet time and evening routines, children are always under the care of trusted adults who know where they are, who they are with, and how they are settling in.

Is there supervision at night?

Yes. Our staff live on-site and provide 24/7 supervision throughout the camp.

An adult is always available overnight should a child feel unwell, homesick or need reassurance. Our evenings are calm, structured and supervised, helping children feel secure and at home after a full day of adventure.

Are the instructors qualified?

Yes. Our activities are delivered by qualified, experienced instructors, with professional guides and specialist instructors brought in for technical or higher-risk activities.

Staff are carefully selected and trained, with appropriate checks, first-aid awareness and safeguarding procedures in place. Activities are risk-assessed in advance, and children are grouped according to age, ability and confidence so that every experience feels exciting, but controlled and well supported.

What happens in a medical emergency?

Your child’s wellbeing is our priority. A trained health referent is available on-site, and our team holds key medical information, allergies, medication instructions and emergency contacts for every child.

If a child becomes unwell or injured, they are assessed promptly and supported by our team. The medical centre of Val-d’Illiez and the hospital in Monthey are nearby if further care is required. Parents are contacted straight away in any urgent situation and kept updated throughout.

🏥

Health & wellbeing

Can you cater to allergies and special diets?

Yes. Parents are asked to share any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements before camp, so our team can prepare properly in advance.

Our kitchen adapts meals wherever possible, and key information is shared with the relevant staff to make sure children are looked after at breakfast, lunch, dinner and during snacks. We take food requirements seriously and aim to make every child feel included at mealtimes, not singled out.

Is halal food available?

Yes. Halal meals are available on request and can be arranged before arrival.

We understand how important this is for many families, so we ask parents to let us know at the time of booking. Our team will then make sure this is clearly communicated to the kitchen and camp staff so your child’s meals are prepared with care throughout their stay.

Is there time and space for prayer?

Yes. We respectfully accommodate prayer times and provide a quiet, private space for children who wish to pray.

Our team is sensitive to different faiths and routines, and we aim to make every child feel comfortable, respected and supported during their time at camp.

What if my child takes medication?

Parents can provide full medication instructions before arrival. Any prescribed medication is stored securely and administered according to the written guidance provided by parents.

Our health referent keeps a clear record of medication needs, timings and instructions, helping ensure your child’s routine is followed carefully throughout camp. If there are any concerns or changes, parents are contacted promptly.
